On March 16th, Mariner Square Athletic Club was notified from Alameda County that we would have to follow the “Shelter in Place”. This gave us less than 12 hours before we had to close our doors. The club’s decision to continue billing for April was due to the fact that the “Shelter in Place” was scheduled to end on April 7th and that we would be able to reopen and provide services for the majority of the month.
As the Covid-19 situation continues to unfold, the timeline has been extended for the “Shelter in Place”. Due to this, we will be suspending further automatic deductions and billing until we have an opening date. As stated, we will work with each member upon our reopening to compensate you for time missed and dues paid while the club was closed due to the mandate. We are also honoring all cancelations that are emailed to us. Please be patient during this time.
The club is not profiting from your April Dues. We have met our current employee pay obligations and will also need funds to pay the staff upon our reopening when no income will be coming in. We are also applying for a SBA Emergency Disaster Loan and any other government stimulus packages that become available for small businesses.
Like most small businesses, these are trying times and we are doing our best to be able to have a business for our members and staff to return to when we reopen. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
